Automotive Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer
Our client, a global automotive manufacturing and engineering organization, is seeking a Design Release Engineer to join their team. As a Design Release Engineer, you will be part of the Fuel Systems Engineering Department supporting Product Development, Vehicle Programs, Manufacturing, Validation, and Supplier Engineering Teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive, self-driven mindset that will align successfully within the organization.

Automotive Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer
Location:
Auburn Hills, MI Pay Range: $32.81/hour
- Lead the design, development, validation, and production release of fuel system components, including fuel lines, filler pipes, fuel caps, and capless fuel systems.
- Manage engineering changes and resolve design, durability, assembly, manufacturing, and quality issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct and support DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, and technical design reviews to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and program milestones.
- Collaborate with suppliers, testing laboratories, manufacturing facilities, CAE teams, and vehicle program groups to deliver successful product launches.
- Support prototype builds, plant activities, launch readiness, and post-launch quality and warranty investigations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in automotive product development, preferably involving fuel systems, fluid transfer systems, or related vehicle components.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering validation processes.
- Experience using NX, Teamcenter, BOM management systems, or other PLM tools.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
