Our client, a global automotive manufacturing and engineering organization
, is seeking a Design Release Engineer to join their team. As a Design Release Engineer
, you will be part of the Fuel Systems Engineering Department supporting Product Development, Vehicle Programs, Manufacturing, Validation, and Supplier Engineering Teams

Job Title: Automotive Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay Range: $32.81/hour

What's the Job?
  • Lead the design, development, validation, and production release of fuel system components, including fuel lines, filler pipes, fuel caps, and capless fuel systems.
  • Manage engineering changes and resolve design, durability, assembly, manufacturing, and quality issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct and support DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, and technical design reviews to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and program milestones.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, testing laboratories, manufacturing facilities, CAE teams, and vehicle program groups to deliver successful product launches.
  • Support prototype builds, plant activities, launch readiness, and post-launch quality and warranty investigations.
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in automotive product development, preferably involving fuel systems, fluid transfer systems, or related vehicle components.
  • Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering validation processes.
  • Experience using NX, Teamcenter, BOM management systems, or other PLM tools.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
