Feature Systems Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Feature Systems Engineer with a strong automotive systems engineering background to support new feature development at both the platform and program levels. The ideal candidate will have experience defining and managing Customer Feature Objectives (CFOs), collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and supporting the development of automotive features aligned with global strategies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, manage, and track Customer Feature Objectives (CFOs) efficiently throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct detailed analysis to ensure CFOs align with project objectives, technical requirements, and applicable standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and follow best practices and align on a global strategy for new feature development.
- Support platform-level new feature development.
- Support program-specific new feature development.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and Voice of Customer (VoC) clinics to support the feature development process.
- Coordinate with software, hardware, systems, and functional-domain teams to identify and resolve feature-related issues.
- Support systems engineering activities, including requirements analysis, decomposition, traceability, and validation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
- 3–5 years of automotive industry experience.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle feature development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Automotive systems engineering background.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and automotive industry best practices.
- Knowledge of INCOSE requirements decomposition and systems engineering principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
- Knowledge of IBM DOORS or similar ALM/PLM requirements management tools.
- Hands-on systems engineering experience.
- Experience developing and interpreting system/network topology diagrams.
- Ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives, including software, hardware, and field-related issues.
- Knowledge of one or more automotive functional domains, such as Electrical, Chassis, Body, or Interior.
