Our client, a leading global automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Design Release Engineer (Fuel Systems) to join their team. As a Design Release Engineer
, you will be part of the Fuel Systems Engineering Department supporting Vehicle Program Teams, Validation Labs, Manufacturing Plants, Supplier Operations, and Quality Teams

Job Title: Design Release Engineer (Fuel Systems)
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay Range: $47/hour

What's the Job?
  • Design, develop, validate, and release fuel system components including fuel tanks, fuel delivery modules, and urea/DEF tank systems.
  • Lead APQP activities and support product validation efforts throughout the product development cycle.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, testing labs, CAE engineers, and vehicle program teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Drive quality improvements, cost optimization, weight reduction initiatives, and production readiness activities.
  • Communicate technical project status and support compliance with engineering standards and release processes.
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Product Engineer, or Component Engineer.
  • Experience working with fuel systems, including fuel tanks, fuel pumps, fuel delivery modules, or DEF/urea tank systems.
  • Understanding of APQP and product validation processes (DVP&R experience preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, supplier management experience, valid driver's license, and ability to travel as required.
