We are helping our client, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, find an experienced Resident Engineer to provide onsite technical support at the Stellantis Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI.
Position Highlight- Serve as the primary technical liaison between Stellantis and the supplier's engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams
- Support metal automotive components and assemblies, including technical issues, engineering changes, product development, manufacturing concerns, and customer requirements
- Work directly with OEM engineering and technical teams
- MUST be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field preferred
- 5+ years of automotive engineering experience, preferably with a Tier 1 supplier or Stellantis
- Strong knowledge of metal automotive components and manufacturing processes
- Experience with precision-machined, cast, forged, formed, or fabricated automotive components
- Experience with some combination of:
Chassis/Structural: suspension components, subframes, shock towers, cross-car structures - Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and tolerances
- Experience troubleshooting component and manufacturing issues and driving root-cause/corrective actions
- Strong technical communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently in an OEM environment
- Previous experience working directly with Stellantis
- Previous onsite experience at a Chrysler/Stellantis technical center or manufacturing facility
- Experience with powertrain, transmission, driveline, chassis, structural, or EV components
- Familiarity with Stellantis engineering systems, standards, processes, and requirements
- Strong understanding of machining, casting, forging, forming, tooling, and other metal manufacturing processes
- Experience supporting PPAP, APQP, validation, launches, prototypes, and engineering changes
