POSITION SUMMARY
Borg Warner Drivetrain and Morse Systems (DMS) is currently looking for a collaborative, results-driven Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to lead the development and launch of drivetrain system solutions at the Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, MI. This role will primarily support mechanical drivetrain products such as transfer cases and axle disconnect systems, with regular interface to software and electrical hardware teams as part of the overall product solution.
As an EPM, you will serve as the primary technical interface to the customer and the engineering interface to Program Management and Sales. You will provide project management leadership for a cross-functional technical team from pursuit through launch and post-production support, ensuring project work products are delivered on time, meet internal and external customer expectations, and support manufacturable, validated product designs.
You will also develop engineering project estimates, monitor engineering expenditures, and forecast resource and budget needs.
The successful candidate will be an experienced engineering professional with a strong foundation in product development and project leadership. The candidate should possess sufficient experience in automotive product development, strong mechanical engineering judgment, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability lead and build alignment in cross functional teams.

- Serve as the primary technical interface to the customer for assigned drivetrain programs.
- Serve as the primary engineering interface to Program Management and Sales during pursuit, development, launch, and post-production support.
- Lead cross-functional technical product development activities for mechanical drivetrain products, primarily transfer cases and axle disconnect systems.
- Coordinate engineering activities across mechanical design, systems, software, electrical hardware, validation, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and supplier teams as required by the program scope.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate engineering project timing, deliverables, risks, issues, and open actions.
- Provide change management and problem resolution leadership, including identification, planning, tracking, escalation, and closure of technical changes and issues.
- Support engineering project estimates and maintain fiscal responsibility for engineering expenses, budget tracking, and forecasting.
- Prepare and present clear project status, technical summaries, risks, and recommendations to internal leadership and customers.
- Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve engineering execution, launch readiness, and customer satisfaction.
- Foster teamwork by actively seeking collaboration, encouraging open communication, and helping the team resolve conflicts constructively.
