Our client, a leading global automotive manufacturer
, is seeking an Automotive Requirements Engineer to join their team. As an Automotive Requirements Engineer, you will support cross-functional Product Planning, Core Engineering, Systems Engineering, HMI, Software, Hardware, and Validation teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent analytical abilities, and proven cross-functional collaboration skills

Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan — Onsite
What’s the Job?
- Own the creation, review, approval, baselining, maintenance, and tracking of vehicle feature requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear, measurable, testable, and traceable system-level requirements.
- Lead cross-functional requirements reviews and resolve gaps, conflicts, assumptions, and interface dependencies.
- Maintain bidirectional traceability across system, subsystem, software, hardware, and validation requirements while managing approved changes.
- Partner with validation and engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and ensure safety, cybersecurity, regulatory, and industry requirements are addressed.
What’s Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- 1–5 years of automotive product-development experience involving requirements definition, authoring, analysis, review, or lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of automotive systems engineering, functional decomposition, architectures, interfaces, and software/hardware interactions.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 and requirements-engineering practices aligned with INCOSE
, including traceability, verification, validation, and change management. - Strong written/verbal communication, organization, and cross-functional coordination skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based research.
