Quality Engineering, Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a proactive Validation Engineer specializing in Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, testing, and validation of chassis performance to drive high vehicle quality, minimize warranty issues, and ensure superior ride and handling characteristics. You will oversee quality testing across all program phases - from upfront target setting through prototype and pre-production vehicle testing.
Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Dynamics & Quality Validation:
Lead the validation of chassis functionality to minimize vehicle and suspension sensitivity to road forces, assembly build variations, vehicle architecture differences, and component wear. - Vibration & Sensitivity Mitigation:
Optimize vehicle performance to meet program targets by minimizing sensitivity to brake rotor wear (judder), tire/wheel imbalance, vehicle lead/drift/pull, steering wander, torque steer, and vehicle shake/ride. - Full Lifecycle Testing:
Manage quality testing activities across all program development phases, including upfront design definition, prototype testing, and pre-production (pilot) build evaluations. - Data Acquisition & Analysis:
Perform in-vehicle accelerometer measurements as dictated by quality standards, including vehicle instrumentation, signal processing, and data interpretation. - Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:
Apply proactive and reactive engineering problem-solving techniques to resolve chassis performance and quality issues efficiently. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work independently and as part of a team across multiple project locations, communicating clear technical findings to internal teams and external engineering partners. - Education:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (or equivalent). - Experience:
Proven experience in automotive product development with specific expertise in vehicle chassis systems (brakes, tires, steering, suspension, mounts). - Technical
Skills:
Hands-on experience with vehicle vibration data acquisition, instrumentation, and data processing. High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace apps. - Project Management:
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex technical projects simultaneously. - Licensing & Travel:
