Automotive Product Engineer - Cooling & Thermal Systems

Our client, a leading automotive engineering organization focused on vehicle innovation, advanced technologies, and product development, is seeking an Automotive Product Engineer – Cooling Systems & Thermal Management to join their team. As an Automotive Product Engineer, you will be part of the Vehicle Engineering and Product Development organization supporting Thermal Systems, Validation, Design Engineering, and Supplier Development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Automotive Product Engineer – Cooling Systems & Thermal Management
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay Range: $35.01/hour

• Design, develop, validate, and release vehicle cooling system components including radiators, condensers, cooling modules, electric fan assemblies, pumps, valves, heaters, and hose/tube assemblies.
• Lead component packaging and development activities to achieve thermal performance, quality, and vehicle program objectives.
• Coordinate engineering design, CAE analysis, prototype builds, testing, validation activities, and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, milestone achievement, and component readiness.
• Support vehicle testing, root cause analysis, issue resolution, quality improvements, and cost reduction initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
• Experience through internships, co-ops, engineering projects, manufacturing, automotive, or product development environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, thermal systems, fluid systems, HVAC systems, or automotive components.
• Familiarity with engineering development tools and processes such as DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, APQP, testing, and validation methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
