Product Engineer - Engine Cooling Systems
Location:
Auburn Hills, MI
Pay Rate: $35.01/hour
Looking to grow your engineering career with hands-on automotive product development experience? We are seeking a Product Engineer to support the design, testing, validation, and release of engine cooling system components for advanced vehicle programs. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or candidates with internship, co-op, or hands-on engineering experience.
Job Duties- Support the design, development, validation, and launch of vehicle cooling system components
- Assist with cooling modules, radiators, condensers, electric fans, pumps, valves, heaters, hoses, and tubing assemblies
- Coordinate engineering activities including design reviews, prototyping, testing, and documentation
- Work with suppliers to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and project milestones are met
- Support vehicle builds, testing activities, and issue resolution
- Participate in root cause analysis, quality improvements, and cost reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
- Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities and supplier locations
- Associate's, Technical, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or hands-on engineering experience
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, thermal systems, fluid systems, HVAC, or automotive components
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Experience with testing, validation, or root cause analysis
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, APQP, or similar engineering processes
- Participation in Formula SAE, Baja SAE, robotics, or other technical projects
