IT Security Intern; Year-Round

Job Purpose

As an IT Security Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organization’s information security program. While prior IT experience is nice to have, we are seeking an individual with an analytical mindset and a strong interest in cybersecurity. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to our security initiatives. The role will be split between our Security Operations and GRC Security Team.

• Identifying which systems and data are affected by specific incidents.
• Documenting security incident details.
• Collecting raw data and reviewing alarms and alerts.
• Confirming, determining, or adjusting the criticality of alerts.
• Enriching alerts with relevant data.
• Identifying false positives and high-risk events.
• Managing and configuring monitoring tools.
• Contributing to in-depth assessments using threat intelligence.
• Supporting governance documentation and policy management.
• Contributing to risk assessment and compliance activities.
• Assisting with audit preparation and evidence collection.
• Participating in security awareness and governance initiatives.
• Providing security recommendations.
• Managing security controls such as endpoint security, vulnerability management, and data loss prevention.
• Assisting with documentation and runbooks.

• Currently enrolled full‑time in an accredited college, university, or vocational/trade school.
• Ability to report onsite at least three days per week.
• Final or pre‑final year of study in IT or a related field (electronics, automation, etc.).
• Analytical mindset: capable of critical thinking and solving complex problems.
• Passionate interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn about information security.
• Fluency in English.
• Optional certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA (a plus).
