The Early Warning Detection Investigator is responsible for conducting comprehensive preliminary ("screening") technical reviews on proactive sensing product alerts related to vehicle safety and compliance. The role partners with and leads cross-functional teams — Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service and Product Investigations — to determine product scope and the consequence of potential product issues during preliminary technical review.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct preliminary technical reviews of proactive sensing product alerts related to vehicle safety and compliance.
- Work with and lead cross-functional teams to determine product scope and consequence of potential product issues.
- Document all required technical review information and data with sufficient detail and clarity.
- Recommend escalation or closure actions for all product alert items and provide supporting rationale.
- Provide frequent technical review status reports to Product Investigators and management.
- Provide recommendations to the Information Technology department regarding proactive sensing functional logic and continuous improvement of predictive analytic techniques and visualization.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Information Systems, or a related technical or quantitative discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. Alternatively, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university; other engineering or related technical degrees with combined experience may be considered.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources — including field data, warranty data, service data and customer feedback — with a focus on predictive analytics.
- Ability to analyze data to identify trends, patterns, gaps and inconsistencies, and clearly summarize findings.
- Working knowledge of reporting, data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, databases, dashboards), with the ability to learn internal systems quickly.
- Experience supporting investigations, reporting or program execution through timely and accurate data preparation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to understand and break down complex data or issues into clear, actionable information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to support internal stakeholders, including investigators, program managers and leadership.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, with management, engineering, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Prior experience in automotive field quality, warranty analytics, or product investigations.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks for vehicle safety and compliance.
- Experience with dashboarding and BI platforms and with predictive/statistical analysis of field failure data.
