Our client is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support facility operations, vendor management, capital improvement projects, and procurement activities across multiple distribution and logistics facilities. This role serves as the primary liaison between operations teams, contractors, service providers, procurement, and finance to ensure facilities are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing service contracts, overseeing capital projects, controlling budgets, and coordinating vendors in a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities- Administer and manage facility service contracts, including review and approval of out-of-scope work.

- Solicit, evaluate, and recommend vendor proposals and competitive bids.
- Review contractor pricing, estimates, and scopes of work.
- Monitor contractor performance against service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate regional construction contractors and specialty service providers.
- Support contract renewals, vendor scorecards, and performance reviews.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions and service requests within ERP/procurement systems.
- Track operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) against approved budgets.
- Review contractor invoices and verify completed work prior to payment approval.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, accrual reporting, and expense planning.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness.
- Support the planning and execution of facility capital improvement projects.
- Coordinate facility renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and building improvements.
- Manage project budgets, contractor schedules, and project closeout activities.
- Participate in project meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Support daily facility operations across multiple locations.
- Serve as the primary contact for building-related issues and service requests.
- Coordinate emergency repairs and facility service interruptions.
- Monitor facility conditions and recommend operational improvements.
- Support maintenance and reliability initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Corporate Facilities teams.
- Ensure contractor compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support OSHA compliance, facility audits, and safety inspections.
- Participate in risk assessments and corrective action implementation.
- Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or Contractor Administration.
- Experience reviewing contractor proposals, estimates, and bid packages.
- Experience managing service contracts and vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial planning practices.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP/procurement systems.
- Experience in warehouse, distribution centre, manufacturing, automotive, or logistics environments.
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Experience managing capital budgets and construction projects.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
- Experience with contractor negotiations, bid packages, and service contract administration.
- Experience supporting distribution centre or logistics facility operations.
- Self-driven facilities professional with strong expertise in vendor management, contract administration, procurement, budget control, and capital project execution.
- Skilled at evaluating proposals, coordinating contractors, and managing multiple priorities across multiple sites.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen, technical knowledge, project management capabilities, and safety awareness.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and drives continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence.
