Bartech Staffing is proud to partner with an Automotive client who is accepting applications for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
. This is a direct hire opportunity, onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.
Salary range: $100K - $115K per year (W2).
As an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager you will serve as the primary safety, health, and environmental advisor across all levels of the organization. In this role, you will provide technical EH&S expertise to production operations and corporate personnel, develop and administer EH&S programs, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the company.
This is a critical leadership position for an experienced EH&S professional who brings technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence and partner across all functions.
Responsibilities- Develop corporate EH&S programs, policies, and annual goals; maintain monthly metrics.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise corporate and plant teams on compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state EH&S regulations, including OSHA standards and applicable industry codes.
- Lead hazard communication programs and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
- Develop and deliver EH&S training, including New Hire Orientation and specialized safety programs.
- Maintain the company's EH&S training and reference library (videos, manuals, regulations).
- Promote EH&S awareness through internal communications, newsletters, and targeted campaigns.
- Work closely with operations, engineering, HR, and other functions to provide day-to-day EH&S direction
- Participate in new product and process reviews, including conducting PHAs (Process Hazard Analyses).
- Support engineering teams with the implementation of engineering controls to mitigate hazards.
- Advise on proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct EH&S audits at manufacturing plants to verify compliance with internal programs and regulatory requirements.
- Review safety committee meeting minutes, inspection reports, and incident/near-miss reports; ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Monitor lost-time injuries, workers compensation data, and assist plant controller with loss reviews.
- Serve as a key member of the Executive Environmental Health & Safety Committee.
- 6+ years of experience as a Safety Engineer or EH&S Manager in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations, including:
- ANSI B11.19
- RIA 15.06
- OSHA 1910 / OSHA / OSHA
- EN 954-1 (+), EN13849-1
- NFPA 70E
- NEC Article 110.16
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to recognize EH&S risks and respond with sound judgment, firmness, and tact.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization-employees, supervisors, executives, and regulatory officials.
- High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CSHM (Certified Safety & Health Manager).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and regulatory documents.
- Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, procedures, and safety communications.
- Ability to interpret scientific/technical literature, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts (probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry) to real-world EH&S challenges.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex technical instructions.
