Key Responsibilities
  • Controlling and financial reporting for all engineering services between North America and other regional partners (South America/Enlarged Europe/Asia Pacific) including actuals and budget/forecasts
  • Lead and support special projects including process improvements, implementation of regional funding strategies, and other global engineering/finance initiatives
  • Coordinate alignment with global engineering and finance teams to ensure accurate related party and IFRS accounting and enable timely contract execution and cash settlement
  • Collaborate with accounting, tax, purchasing, and treasury partners on implementation of new processes, and execution of initiatives to increase workflow efficiencies
  • Contribute to evolving Global Engineering Finance structure
  • Support Group ER&D Special Projects
What you’ll learn
  • The ability to work with operational counterparts while practicing financial management (forecasts, budgets).
  • Manage collaboration with engineering counterparts to optimize the efficiency of ER&D spending from a cost‑controllership perspective.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work with large data sets, and the ability to summarize and present the material in a clear and concise manner to all levels of management.
  • Learn engineering’s product development process as well as the management process throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
What this role will prepare you for
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with North America and global organizations to share knowledge and gain consensus.
  • Manage and analyze large volumes of data with frequent updates which are used in Leadership Presentations and Operational Meetings.
  • Detailed understanding of North America Vehicle/Powertrain/Software/Hardware Engineering and Global Engineering Perimeters.
  • Related Party Accounting and Tax Financial Reporting guidelines and processes
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (if no Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, must have an MBA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business unit budgeting and forecasting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Microsoft Office Suite application experience.
  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple work streams at one time.
  • Ability to deliver on high‑priority requests in a timely manner, providing a point of view for direction of deliverable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Excellent navigation and comprehensive knowledge of SAP software application
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookup), Essbase and Accounting knowledge beneficial
  • Automotive industry knowledge a plus
