Overview
The Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) Lead- BIW reports to the SIS Lead for Body and drives best-in-class execution of body processes and business metrics as defined by SIS KPIs. Primary focus is to improve transformation cost and quality performance through projects based on benchmarking, innovation, cross-project collaboration, and sharing of best practices. They challenge the status quo while supporting plants in closing performance gaps to achieve best-in-class results at Stellantis.
Activitiesand responsibilities
- Support the creation and execution of the Want to Be (WTB) vision, Master Plan and Annual Budget targets
- Support plants in defining and executing capital and launch projects, serving as the voice of the plant
- Communicate determined targets and apply working knowledge of Body in White to create and relate best practice across projects
- Drive continuous improvement of body processes aligned to performance goals and KPIs
- Boost shop/plant performance through innovation with coordination of VPE organization and alignment with the plant
- Communicate the best-in-class plant and shop (layouts, investment, organization, performance, sustainment)
- Study manufacturing processes and related outputs
- Support benchmarking of internal and external best-in-class practices for application and validation of specific processes and outputs
- Maintain a strong technical mindset with the ability to identify and deploy solutions that improve KPIs
- Demonstrate the ability to challenge plant assumptions with data and technical understanding
- Provide hands-on shop floor support to validate correct implementation of process standards, equipment fundamentals, and daily SPW management routines across plants in North America
- Work closely with Quality, Safety, Maintenance and Loss Deployment teams to identify and prioritize critical BIW issues and ensure coordinated execution of improvement actions
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in operations management in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodology and implementation or continuous improvement systems
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
- Ability to travel within North America to support NA Region: US/CAN/MEX
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
- Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team members
- Goal-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead a team
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Applications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Previous experience working in a union environment
- Production/Quality/Industrial Engineering supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
