Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician with hands‑on experience in the aerospace and defense sectors. This role is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and testing precision components with strict adherence to engineering specifications and industry‑leading quality standards.
Core Responsibilities- Assemble aerospace and defense components to exact engineering specifications, ensuring compliance with AS91000 and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, sectional views, CAD models, and technical drawings.
- Perform mechanical assembly, fitting, and integration of precision‑machined parts.
- Conduct in‑process and final inspections using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, height gages, and thread gages.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to achieve optimal performance and resolve technical issues.
- Document assembly processes, inspection results, and nonconformance reports with accuracy and clarity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused work environment consistent with aerospace/defense industry standards.
- 2+ years of assembly experience in aerospace, defense, or other high‑precision manufacturing environments.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with standard mechanical assembly tools and precision measurement equipment.
- Understanding of GD&T a strong plus
- Experience working with complex machine components.
- High attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and commitment to quality.
- Experience in an AS91000 certified or ISO‑certified environment.
- Familiarity with limited production or prototype assembly workflows.
- Exposure to CMM or advanced inspection technologies is beneficial.
- Prior work in a climate‑controlled, high‑precision manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Regular standing, bending, and manual assembly work.
- Work performed in a clean, organized, controlled manufacturing setting—similar to competitor facilities.
