Description:
The Press Brake Operator will use a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates. Metals can ranges from .5" to 2" in thickness. Utilizing a 500 ton press.
Responsibilities:
- Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
- Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
- Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.
- Measures and aligns materials to be used.
- Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and straighten sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate dimensions
- Select and install appropriate tooling for each job
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine the correct sequence of operations
- Inspect finished parts for quality and make adjustments as necessary
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
- 1 year experience working with a press brake
- 1 year experience in manufacturing (aerospace strongly preferred but not required)
- Proficient and self reliant in reading and interpreting blue prints and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with working with different types of sheet metal.
- Ability to operator safely a crane and forklift
