Job Summary
US Farathane is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Shipping & Receiving Team Lead to ensure parts are shipped on time and in good condition per customer demands.
Job Location: Auburn Hills, MI.
Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. $0.75/hr shift premium.
- Communicate with plant personnel to meet shipping schedules for on‑time deliveries.
- Act as conduit between company, plant, and materials department to communicate schedules, overtime, assignments, and departmental changes to employees.
- Assist supervisor in overseeing all employees in assigned area and ensure teammates follow schedules.
- Serve as trainer for new employees in the shipping and receiving department.
- Monitor personnel in assigned area for adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Lead associates in group problem solving and employee involvement activities.
- Assist in cycle counting of warehouse inventories, auditing inbound and outbound shipments when required.
- Be certified to operate a forklift, train new hires to operate a forklift.
- Generate shipping documents, export papers, operate bar code equipment and UPS machinery accurately.
- Load trucks with finished goods, verify shipment with product loaded.
- Unload, receive in, and put away purchased material after quantity verification and inspection.
- Maintain high level of organization and cleanliness in the warehouse.
- Ensure stock is rotated following FIFO.
- Stage and label all outbound product correctly.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
- Confirm and update shipping documents to comply with customer regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and OSHA safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hi‑lo license.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Good mathematical ability.
- Forklift driving skills.
- Computer skills.
- Understanding of FIFO procedures.
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; stand, walk, and sit. Must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Working ConditionsThe employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
