UNIIITED is partnering with a leading investment casting and precision machining company serving the aerospace and defense industries, to find an experienced machining leader to launch and own their first precision machining cell from day one. This isn't a role stepping into an existing operation, you'll be selecting equipment, standing up the cell, building the team, and setting the standards that shape how machining runs at this organization for years to come.

Our client is an established leader in investment casting and precision machining, manufacturing mission-critical metal components for highly regulated aerospace and defense applications. They're committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement, and they're in the process of opening a new advanced manufacturing facility that will create 50 new jobs as they grow.

• Lead the build‑out and launch of the first precision machining cell, from equipment selection through installation, setup, and commissioning
• Own the machining process end to end: drawing review, CNC programming, setup, tooling, and hands‑on machining
• Build standardized workflows and best practices that support safe, efficient, repeatable production
• Get the initial machining cell fully operational and producing quality parts to spec within the first 90 days
• Build and mentor a growing team of machinists and an Applications Specialist as capacity expands
• Ensure machining operations meet ITAR, ISO 9001, and AS9100 compliance standards
• Partner directly with leadership on machining strategy, equipment investment, and capacity planning, with clear ownership of machining operations
• Required Qualifications
  10+ years of experience in precision CNC machining
• Hands‑on experience across CNC programming, applications, machine setup, and machining operations
• Proven experience with high‑precision, tight‑tolerance components
• Experience with Doosan and Makino CNC equipment preferred
• Prior leadership experience overseeing a CNC machining team, department, or operation
• An ownership mentality, with the ability to build a machining capability from the ground up and take accountability for results
• Comfortable providing leadership and operational support across two facilities
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
• Equally comfortable on the shop floor and building out processes, people, and capabilities

• Experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing
• Familiarity with ITAR, ISO 9001, and AS9100 requirements
• Experience machining complex, high‑value, tight‑tolerance aerospace or defense components
• Experience establishing machining processes, standards, and workflows in a growing operation
