CNC Programmer (2nd Shift) - 5-Axis Machining
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift (Enjoy Fridays and Saturdays Off!)
IQ Manufacturing is a precision machining company specializing in complex, high-tolerance components. We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join our 2nd
shift team and help drive efficient, high-quality production on advanced 3-axis and 5-axis
milling equipment.

What You'll Do
Program & Optimize
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines using NX, Power Mill, or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Create efficient toolpaths that maximize machine performance, accuracy, and cycle-time efficiency.
- Verify programs through simulation and toolpath validation before release to production.
Solve Complex Manufacturing Challenges
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, CAD models, and technical specifications to create accurate machining strategies.
- Identify and resolve programming, tooling, and machining issues that impact quality or productivity.
- Support shop floor troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives.
Improve Processes
- Analyze machining operations and implement improvements to reduce setup time, improve throughput and eliminate waste.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to develop innovative solutions for complex parts.
- Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
Ensure Quality & Precision
- Maintain compliance with quality standards, engineering requirements, and safety procedures.
- Support first-piece inspections and process validation activities.
- Maintain accurate programming and process documentation for traceability and repeatability.
What We're Looking For
Required
- CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment.
- Experience programming 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Proficiency with NX, Power Mill, Mastercam, or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, work holding, and cutting parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and perform under demanding production schedules.
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
