Charge Nurse (RN) - Full-time, 36 hours per week - Night Shift, 7:00pm-7:30am - Adult Unit - every other weekend rotation

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Charge Nurse to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.
Position Summary
The Charge Nurse is responsible for quality nursing care and overall supervision of nursing staff members for a particular Hospital shift.
Duties and responsibilities, to include; but are not limited to:
* Adjust staffing as needed to ensure proper coverage according to designates staff/patient ratios in collaboration with Nurse Manager.
* Responsible for personally covering a shift if adequate staffing cannot be found.
* Monitors and evaluates nursing care given.
* Participates with the Nurse Manager and other nursing managers in the development of therapeutic programs for the unit.
* Participates in orientation program for new employees and in-service education for shift employees when needed.
* Serves as a preceptor for new employees, or coordinates orientation with the preceptor designated by the Nurse Manager.
* Receives the intake information and verifies the admission with the physician and Intake Department.

Qualifications
* Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
* Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan required.
* Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
* Three to five years of psychiatric experience with one to two year of management experience preferred.
* Current certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
* Current certification in BLS/CPR required.
* Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
