Charge Nurse (RN) – Full‑time, 36 hours per week – Night Shift, 7:00 pm‑7:30 am – Adult Unit – Every other weekend rotation
Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission‑accredited psychiatric hospital located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Charge Nurse oversees quality nursing care and supervises nursing staff during a shift on the adult unit.
Responsibilities- Adjust staffing as needed to ensure proper coverage according to designated staff/patient ratios in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
- Personal cover a shift if adequate staffing cannot be found.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care given.
- Participate with the Nurse Manager and other nursing managers in developing therapeutic programs for the unit.
- Participate in orientation and in‑service education for shift employees.
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees or coordinate orientation with the preceptor designated by the Nurse Manager.
- Receive intake information, verify admissions with the physician and Intake Department.

- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (required).
- Current and valid license as a registered nurse in Michigan (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- 3–5 years of psychiatric experience, with 1–2 years of management experience preferred.
- Current certification in non‑violent crisis intervention preferred.
- Current certification in BLS/CPR required.
- Employees must be in good standing to be considered for internal transfers.
