Quality Assurance Specialist, Vehicle Engine and Tranmission

Our client, one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world, is hiring an Engine and Transmission Quality Specialist to join their product quality engineering team in Auburn Hills, MI!

This team is monitoring product performance and quality of Internal Combustion engines (ICE) and automatic transmissions, and as a Quality Specialist on this team, you would be responsible for identifying and reporting on product shortcomings.

• 5+ years of automotive industry experience
• Previous automotive quality engineering experience
• Experience with vehicle engines and transmissions
• Ability to interpret and apply quantitative methodologies

• Monitor the product quality of customer vehicles in the US and identify all product shortcomings based on information from all inside & outside sources for the overall vehicle including Internal Combustion engines (ICE) and Automatic Transmissions.
• Determine market-oriented priority lists for product shortcomings.
• Analyze and track quality issues and communicate the results of monitoring activities/pre-analyses via Priority Customer Complaint (PCC) to corporate to initiate and drive the fault solving process for proper production and service solutions.
• Monitor and report the effectiveness of implemented countermeasures in the field.
• Perform pre-analysis of defective parts and if necessary, coordinate and prepare onsite vehicle analyses.
• Recommend effective service solutions to corporate in order to address customer satisfaction.
• Provide cross functional assistance to other groups within the organization, vendors and associations.
• Support and coordinate fault solving process in close cooperation with various departments of corporate (Product Quality counterparts, Quality Assurance, Production, Technical Development)
• Provide efficient and effective repair assistance to Dealers:
• Communicate resolutions for product shortcomings and appropriate procedures to Dealers.
• Technical support for Technical Field Managers, Technicians Helpline and Customer Experience.
• Assist in the repair of vehicles when Dealer personnel are not able to fix themselves through quality technical advice.

• Support all technical AoA “new vehicle” pre-launch and launch activities.
• Support (test drives, press & launch events, port & auction center investigations).

• Prepare a detailed field situation/topic overview with all required data’s and technical details for quality topics for various decision-making committee’s (e.g. APS, CSB, PQF)
• Prepare presentations of Top Quality Issues for regularly Quality meeting with corporate Board and Top Management.
