The Program Quality Leader (PQL) will ensure customer engineering requirements and end-user expectations are met. As a member of the Program Core Team, the PQL represents the Customer Voice within the company. You’ll ensure the interface with the customer and internally with other functions on quality matters in the development phases.
Responsibilities- Establish and maintain successful Customer relationships on Quality matters
- Responsible for quality of delivered products and services to the Customer for their program
- Identify the initial Program Quality engineering objectives with the Program manager (PPM, Scrap, Warranty, Perceived quality, Safety & Regulation and specific customer quality indicators)
- Initiate and monitor the Program Risk Assessment through FMEA methodology.
- Ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions are fully assessed, documented, and communicated
- Implement the quality management plan and ensure a regular follow-up to achieve these quality engineering objectives throughout the program phases
- Work with ASQ to cascade the quality engineering objectives to the internal and external suppliers
- Lead the development and production process for measurement, checking and testing fixtures and gauges (MSA studies, Capabilities, Gage R&R)
- In a collaboration with Program Development Leader and Industrial Program Engineer (at minimum) develops the required APQP elements of Special Characteristics, D/P-FMEA, and control plan until successful PPAP and start of production
- Responsible for conformity, perceived quality and traceability of any parts delivered to the customer for prototype phase, first off tool, and preproduction trials
- Prepare the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) files for submission of the initial samples, including customer process audit and review for approval
- In charge of intercompany components APQP and PPAP
- Report as needed the progress of his activity to Program Manager and TCS Director
- Ensure the use of the appropriate engineering methods and quality standards (PMS, specific Customer program development system, international regulations, etc.)
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on engineering knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
- Commitment to the highest ethical
- All other duties as assigned by the company
- Lead resolution of program quality issues related to all customer requirements (product, process, CSR)
- Alert Top Management if a major risk has been identified and no contingency plan is defined
- Have the authority to stop any process or product delivery in case of serious nonconformance (customer expectations or safety and regulations issues)
- Has the authorization to approve purchases with corporate credit card
- Knowledge of automotive quality standards and methods (ISO-9001, IATF-16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.)
- OEM specific quality requirements
- Company’s products and technologies

- Skilled in Six Sigma
- Advanced skills in MS Office.

- Proficient level of English, second language welcome (Spanish, French or German)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is high desired, or 3+ years of proven experience in the Automotive industry.
- 3+ years of proven Quality function experience in the Automotive industry.
