Responsibilities Of Position
  • Analyzes production limitations and problems.
  • Reviews and organizes statistical data on quality of production by line, shift, and department to produce recommendations.
  • Reviews and implements specification revisions.
  • Formulates or assists in formulating quality standards, policies, programs, plans, procedures and practices.
  • Continuously reviews the economics of the quality program and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct.
  • Ensures adequate and continuous control procedures are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with internal and external customers who broadly include suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Communicates with customers and helps ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Addresses internal and external quality concerns and assists in closure of concerns.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Skill Requirements
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Professional accreditation as a quality engineer by an appropriate authority or willingness to attain.

  • Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Working familiarity of automotive OEM quality systems, including TS-16949 requirements.
Experience Requirements
  • A combination of education and manufacturing experience.
Licensing Or Special Certification Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to travel to plant and/or customer sites.
  • Ability to travel by air travel and automobile.
Working Conditions
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
  • Works within an automotive components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
Job Location Specific Requirements:
Position Summary

Advanced QE is responsible for ensuring that product/processes meet defined standards and requirements internally and externally during the entire product life cycle across all customers in the region with focus during all stages of AQP preventing risk. Drive customer scorecards to “green” status through problem solving, monthly reporting and internal/external customer interactions.

Responsibilities

Establish and verify quality disciplines during all phases of product/process development and launch

Ensure compliance to standards and requirements internally and externally including safety

Ensure customer specific requirements are met including satisfaction by tracking and driving “green” scorecards across all customers within the region

Develop or review and validate Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plans, Work Instruction and visual aids Support OpEX team for deployment and compliance to standards through training and auditing

Active role in problem solving using PPS, CSCC and Yokoten methods

Support and track PPAP timing for selected programs and/or changes

Create, revise and validate Safe Launch activities when necessary

Prepare reports for various levels of management on a defined frequency (KPI reporting)
Drive value add compliance by improving inspection methods or lab testing/inspections and reducing costs using data/technology

Other duties as assigned by supervision
