Join DICK'S Sporting Goods as a Team Captain for Off Field Operations and lead the engine behind an exceptional athlete experience. In this role, you'll coordinate daily store operations, including backroom organization, inventory flow, and omnichannel fulfillment, ensuring the sales floor is always ready for action. You'll coach and support teammates on standards, safety, and productivity while partnering with leaders to drive sales and operational KPIs.
Ideal candidates bring retail or operations experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for sports, teamwork, and community impact in a high-energy environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and schedule off-field retail operations, ensuring daily store readiness and smooth execution of game-day and promotional activities.
- Coordinate merchandise flow, backroom organization, and inventory accuracy to support strong in-store and online fulfillment performance.
- Support and coach teammates on operational standards, policies, and safety procedures, reinforcing a performance-driven, team-oriented culture.
- Partner with store and department leaders to drive sales, service metrics, and operational KPIs aligned with company goals.
- Assist with opening/closing procedures, cash handling checks, and adherence to compliance and loss prevention processes.
- Use retail and fulfillment systems to track tasks, productivity, and customer orders, resolving issues quickly to protect the athlete experience.
- Communicate clearly across departments to align priorities, staffing, and execution during peak traffic and community events.
- Model exceptional customer focus by stepping in on the sales floor as needed and reinforcing service standards with teammates.
