Mechanical Joining Segment Sales Manager

Your role

• Be the expert on the customer’s joining process and their technical specifications
• Act as the primary point of contact for IAS mechanical joining product lines and related mechanical joining elements to assist customers and ensure great customer experience
• Develop and communicate persuasive sales proposals to customers to ensure their preference for IAS
• Grow sales of products including rivets, mechanical joining elements, and corresponding mechanical joining equipment
• Develop and execute strategic growth plans for key customers and emerging segments
• Identify opportunities within key customers as assigned, and have special focus on AI Infrastructure/Data Centers, Energy Storage, and General Industry
• Build relationships with our customers at all levels of the organization; engineering, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders
• Manage a pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate sales forecasts by month, quarter, and year
• Collaborate with our Innovation Hub in Auburn Hills to deliver customer solutions; including creation of unique/new solutions where applicable
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity to report to Atlas Copco Management and suggest where to invest in new technologies to meet market demand
• Research new areas to sell our products and ensure sales growth in targeted areas

• Open to candidates living in any location. Certain living locations may require more travel. Candidates should expect to travel to customers and our office in Auburn Hills, MI on a regular basis

• Travel to key customers on regular basis, and travel time is dependent on location of candidate
• Occasional international travel as required to our product companies in Bretten, Germany and Deeside, UK
• Travel to our yearly National Sales Meeting is a requirement

• Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Business, or related field preferred)
• 5+ years of industrial, technical, or engineered product sales experience preferred
• Experience with mechanical joining element sales/equipment, manufacturing, or industrial equipment sales is advantageous
• Understanding of mechanical joining processes and basic metallurgy fundamentals
• Ability to evaluate joining methods and recommend optimal solutions
• Experience in selling mechanical joining elements is a strong preference
• Hands-on experience with joining systems (Atlas Copco or similar equipment)
• Familiarity in one or more joining technologies (SPR, FDS/FDF, Clinching)
• Familiarity with automation and how it interacts with joining
• Passion for new business development.
