Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems under general supervision.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on‑site customer interface.
- Mentor peers on mechanical HVAC installation and service activities.
- Properly complete required project and service documentation.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service as assigned by the Employer.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- Perform routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of HVAC mechanical equipment.
- Change and service filters; oil and grease; adjust or replace belts; clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes; general housekeeping.
- Operate mechanical systems under contract with the customer.
- Clean and routinely maintain solar energy equipment.
- Indoor air quality related work including duct systems and drain pans.
- Member or willingness to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the U.S. and Canada, AFL-CIO.
- Graduation from a vocational school four‑year program or associate degree in mechanical systems, air conditioning, or related field.
- 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and other contacts.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people.
Pay Range: $21.93 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. Exceptional candidates with unique skills may receive compensation above the typical profile.
