DUTIES
We seek an Advanced Engineering - Cloud Software Development Lead based out of our office at 3850 Hamlin Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel.
Serve as a key player in developing cloud-based software solutions for our AI/ML and E-Mobility projects. Work closely with cross-functional teams, comprising of internal and external personnel, to design, develop, and deploy software solutions for proof-of-concept projects that can inform the development of future Borg Warner products. Guide a growing software development team building enterprise-grade SaaS applications. Lead and participate in the design and implementation of innovative, proof-of-concept software solutions for mobility related products and systems, including for electrified, connected, and automated vehicles.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements. Prepare detailed software solution specifications, documentation, and standards. Guide and oversee personnel working at external service providers as required. Provide technical leadership to a growing software development team supporting enterprise-grade SaaS applications, in particular in the areas of AI/ML. Develop and optimize Digital Twin systems, including integration of FMU-based simulations for advanced modeling and predictive analytics.
Design and implement data collection pipelines for Microgrid and EV charging applications, with hands-on experience in OCPP and MODBUS protocols. Deploy AI models to edge-based solutions, ensuring robust performance and reliability in distributed environments. Demonstrate enterprise networking expertise, including configuration, security, and troubleshooting of complex network architectures. Integrate Azure-based RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) for secure, scalable identity and access management.
Lead front-end development efforts using Figma and Anima, ensuring intuitive user experiences and rapid prototyping. Develop APIs for mobile and microservice applications, enabling seamless integration and interoperability across platforms. Implement hardware monitoring and notification systems for real-time diagnostics and operational alerts. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for the adoption of new tools and technologies.
Write Records of Invention and technical papers, and present at key mobility technology venues. This role is not responsible for supervising direct reports but will responsible for indirectly leading team members through project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering , or a related field; and 60 months of experience in job offered or related position.
- 60 months of experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable web applications in an enterprise environment.
- Experience developing microservice architectures and APIs.
- Experience defining cloud-based application architecture.
- Experience leading project teams, including external partners and contractors and the full project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, planning, execution, and implementation.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Experience with cloud native security best practices for cloud and edge deployments.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating with services such as data pipelines, identity management systems, and analytics/BI tools.
- Experience working with enterprise network architectures and implementing RBAC integrations in cloud environments.
