Purpose
In your role as a Roll Off Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a roll off truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to haul solid waste/recycling debris from large, high volume industrial/construction customers, as well as residential and commercial customers.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform pre and post trip inspections of truck
- Operate truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
- Mount and dismount a heavy‑duty truck many times each day
- Complete assigned route daily, leaving the customer’s location free of debris
- Professionally communicate with customers as needed
- Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents
- Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards, etc.
- Identify and report all containers in need of repair/replacement
- Attend training programs, briefings, and meetings as required
- Communicate customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch
- Immediately communicate mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
- Maintain professional appearance
- Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL
- 1‑year experience operating a roll‑off truck preferred
- 1‑year experience in solid waste industry preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen
- Must have a safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years
- Must have the ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and internal customer service
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- May be required to work in emergency situations
