Assistant Controller

Our client is an organization in the Greater Madison area looking for an Assistant
Controller
. Our client is looking for someone with 6+ years of accounting experience, with strong technical accounting skills and who has high attention to detail. This company offers great culture, with growth opportunities exposure.

The salary range for this position is $125k-$160k.

The Assistant
Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Support and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support external audits, reviews, and tax filings.
• Review and approve general ledger entries prepared by other staff members.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support department and organizational goals

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field preferred.
• 6+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting background.
• Public accounting background preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.
