Accountant Controller

Job Description

Cypress Capital Partners, LLC, a construction company, seeks an experienced Accountant/Controller to manage financial operations, ensure accurate accounting, and support business growth through financial oversight and compliance.

• Maintain general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage cash flow, including monitoring project costs and vendor payments.
• Oversee job costing for construction projects, tracking expenses and profitability.
• Handle tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts monthly.
• Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
• Generate financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors.
• Assist in financial planning, including capital expenditure analysis.
• Manage inventory accounting for construction materials.
• Ensure compliance with construction-specific regulations (e.g., lien laws, bonding).

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of bookkeeping/controller experience, preferably in construction.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage) and MS Excel.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with job costing, payroll, and tax preparation.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Familiarity with construction industry financial practices.
