OverviewJoin a growing Accounting Firm as a Staff Accountant! BTBK Accounting Services specializes in providing Consulting and Full‑Service Accounting to restaurant industry clients.
The Staff Accountant will perform Accounts Payable, Daily Sales Reconciliations, General Bookkeeping and Reconciliation duties. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
This is a full‑time hybrid position. (T/Th - in MADISON WI office, M/W/F - home)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries and compile financial statements to include balance sheet, statement of revenues and expenditures, and revenue and expenditure comparison to budget.
- Maintain all accounting ledgers and supporting accounting documentation.
- Maintain AP system, including processing of invoices, creation of payables schedule and processing of checks and ACH payments.
- Develop, implement and maintain a monthly reporting process to client.
- Ensure client compliance with applicable rules and regulations via GAAP.
- Schedule computations of accrued expenses and give the basis for accruals.
- Prepare schedules of amortization of prepaid expenses and deferred charges.
Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with One to Three years’ experience in general accounting (preferred).
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting with Two to Four years’ experience in general accounting (required).
- High attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational skills.
- Has strong interpersonal skills and is skilled in providing a high level of customer service to clients.
- Able to establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in the use of computers and computer software. Places value in paperless initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Hybrid - Remote Environment (T/Th - MADISON WI office, M/W/F - home)
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods or month‑end closings.
