Staff Accountant

For over 100 years, Borland Benefield has established a reputation for integrity and dependability. Our staff consists of over 50 team members, including 21 CPA’s. We have offices in Birmingham, Auburn, and Florence, Alabama. Borland Benefield is the Alabama member of BKR International, the world’s tenth largest accounting entity, which gives us the resources and expertise of a national firm.

Borland Benefield is seeking a professional who is interested in joining our team in the growing Auburn office. The staff accountant will gain invaluable experience in audit and tax. The staff accountant will have the opportunity to work with clients whose industries range from construction and development, non-profit organizations, manufacturing, as well as other service organizations. This position will have the unique opportunity to learn the accounting industry from all aspects.

Some of the daily responsibilities of the staff accountant include:

• Perform audit and review fieldwork as assigned
• Prepare personal tax returns
• Prepare business tax returns
• Prepare other reports as assigned
• Perform other office duties as needed

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university
• Must be able to manage own time and prioritize workload
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally (both orally and written)
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must be a quick learner
• Must be organized
