Project Manager - Federal Construction (Senior‑Level)
The Company is a Service‑Disabled Veteran‑Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and HUBZone‑certified contractor specializing exclusively in federal construction projects nationwide. Our portfolio includes work on some of our nation's most hallowed grounds, including VA National Cemeteries, as well as complex projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC).
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager (10+ years, including 5+ years in federal construction) to join our team at our headquarters in Notasulga, Alabama (Auburn area).

This role is responsible for full lifecycle management of federal construction projects, ensuring successful delivery aligned with contract requirements, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Standard working hours are Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Central), with additional time as required based on project demands. Some travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities- Determine and define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with contract requirements
- Forecast and allocate labor, equipment, and material resources to meet project needs
- Obtain and manage all permits, approvals, and regulatory requirements
- Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability
- Oversee and administer all prime contract and subcontract activities
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely execution of all phases
- Provide regular progress reporting on cost, schedule, and performance metrics
- Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with federal specifications, codes, and safety standards
- Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Coordinate all stakeholders including owners, designers, engineers, and subcontractors
- Serve as the primary point of contact with Government representatives, maintaining strong client relationships
- Identify risks early and implement proactive solutions to avoid delays, rework, or claims
- Support project closeout, including punch list, documentation, and turnover requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum 10 Years Of Construction Project Management Experience
- Minimum 5 years of federal construction experience (VA, USACE, or similar agencies strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to independently manage complex construction projects with minimal oversight
- Strong working knowledge of federal construction processes, specifications, and contract requirements
- Proficient in submittal preparation, review, and management
- Advanced ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and negotiation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- High level of professionalism in dealing with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Experience working with VA National Cemetery projects or similar high‑visibility federal work
- Familiarity with USACE RMS/QCS systems
- Experience with Procore
- Experience with RSMeans
- Experience with modern construction management platforms
- Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS and federal contracting requirements
Based in Notasulga, AL (Auburn area). Must be willing to work from the office with periodic travel to project sites as required.
