Student Assistant for Events

Job Summary

The Office of The Vice President for Research and Economic Development, External Engagement & Support Office is looking for Student Assistants to help with various tasks as needed. Hours can vary according to class schedules, with a max of 20 hours per week.

Essential Functions
  • Assist the Event Director with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, decor, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Assist clients with pre-event planning, coordination of event setup, as well as audio-visual technical assistance within the Devall Room and The Boardroom at 540 at The Park. May perform these duties alone or collaboratively with supervisors and event operations staff.
  • Monitor event inventory of equipment, supplies, and furniture etc.
  • Monitor event space to ensure cleanliness and organization.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.
Expectations
  • Must maintain a neat appearance.
  • Must be a team player and willing to help where needed with any project that comes up.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift and move banquet tables as needed.
  • Job requires walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
