Visiting Assistant Professor of Architecture (2)
The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) at Auburn University, a comprehensive land-grant and research institution, invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions in Architecture centered on teaching design studio and seminar/lecture courses commencing August 2026.
The Architecture program seeks candidates whose design research / practice is grounded in architectural innovation. We welcome candidates engaged in a range of progressive practices and scholarship in architecture and allied fields. Applicants are expected to teach and conduct research/lead creative activity that contributes to or challenges current architectural thinking. The successful candidates will teach design studios that integrate social, technical, and environmental considerations into architectural design and relevant courses in building technology.
Additionally, the candidates should have a strong teaching and research interest in one or more of the following areas: fabrication technologies, materials research, environmental controls, building systems/performance, sustainability, high performance assemblies, and/or resilience.
- The appointment includes teaching, research, and service.
- Teach undergraduate architecture studios, lecture courses, and/or seminars/workshops related to advanced architectural design courses.
- Develop and maintain an active program of scholarly and/or creative work within the discipline.
- Contribute to the excellence of the academic community through teaching, research, outreach, and service.
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Candidates must hold a PhD, Master of Architecture, Master of Science in Architecture, or a Bachelor of Architecture plus a terminal degree in a related field at the time employment begins.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time of employment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
