Position: Full-Time Lecturer of Architecture

The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) at Auburn University, a comprehensive land-grant and research institution, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Architecture centered on teaching design studio and seminar/lecture courses commencing August 2026.

The Architecture program seeks candidates whose design research / practice is grounded in architectural innovation. We welcome candidates engaged in a range of progressive practices in architecture and allied fields. Applicants are expected to teach and contribute to or challenge current architectural thinking. The successful candidate will demonstrate how design can synthesize contemporary issues and disciplinary knowledge to cultivate students’ architectural sensibilities, particularly in the design of buildings and systems.

We seek individuals who bring a strong design portfolio, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a clear vision for how architecture can engage with urgent disciplinary questions.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the appointment include teaching and service. The successful candidate for the position will be able to teach undergraduate architecture studios, lecture courses, and/or seminars/workshops aligned with their area of expertise. APLA is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their teaching, outreach, and service. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Candidates must hold a PhD, Master of Architecture, Master of Science in Architecture, or a Bachelor of Architecture plus a terminal degree in a related field, at the time employment begins. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time of employment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
