Science Teacher, High School
The Secondary Science Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, hands‑on, and skills‑based science learning experiences aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This role emphasizes inquiry, scientific practices, real‑world problem solving, and authentic application of science concepts to deepen student understanding and transfer of learning beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities include differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs, integrating appropriate technology, monitoring and documenting student progress using formative and summative assessments, communicating regularly with students and families, and engaging in continuous professional learning as a reflective practitioner and collaborative team member.
Position Requirements- Bachelor's degree, or higher, with a valid teaching certificate/license in the content area
- Advanced Placement experience is an asset. School will provide training for the right candidate
- At least two years teaching experience in secondary desired; upper high school experience is an asset
- Experience providing high‑standard Science instruction and fostering student understanding
- Excellent command of the English language; native English speaker preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with K‑12 U.S. curriculum and the Common Core State Standards for Next Generation Science
- Teachers are required to submit an up‑to‑date criminal background check from country of origin, as well as a police background check from the country where you currently live
