Overview
Auburn University’s College of Agriculture (COA) is seeking a Student Assistant to join their staff. Working within the COA’s Research Office, under the supervision of two Proposal Development Specialists, this position actively assists college faculty develop and edit a variety of written content that responds to federal, state, and industry grant announcements.
Responsibilities- Review posted grant solicitations (Requests for Application, RFAs). Then, in collaboration with input from COA’s research faculty, prepare and edit a variety of written material that responds to the grant’s posted requirements and the faculty’s research interests.
- Provide research faculty with comprehensive narrative proofreading and editorial support. This includes the project narrative and all supporting attachments. Activities will combine to ensure all submitted material complies with funding agency instructions and are presented in a cohesive and easily reviewable manner.
- Format Word document templates and develop finalized grant materials following posted style guides. Upload finished content into corresponding project files and notify appropriate department staff when written items are completed and ready for review.
- Assist Senior Proposal Development Staff prepare and conduct faculty training workshops on grant writing strategies. This may involve preparing/updating supporting material prior to scheduled training events and providing post-event follow-up.
