Embark on a meaningful assignment as a Behavior Special Education Teacher working with K-6 students in a self-contained setting. This full-time contract opportunity involves supporting learners presenting with severe behaviors and requires expertise in developing behavioral intervention plans and IEPs. Key Qualifications and

Preferred Experience:
  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working in a self-contained classroom environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to address severe behavioral needs
  • Demonstrated skill in writing effective Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Prior training in restraint techniques is highly preferred
  • Comfortable collaborating with school teams, support staff, and families
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students with intensive needs, K-6
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavioral and academic plans
  • Maintain a structured, supportive classroom that fosters academic and social development
  • Utilize appropriate interventions and crisis prevention strategies when necessary
  • Collect data and evaluate student progress, adjusting supports as needed
  • Prepare and participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Effectively communicate student needs, goals, and progress with team members and parents
  • Stay updated on best practices and compliance requirements in Special Education
