Overview
This is a full‑time, nine‑month, non‑tenure‑track position in the School of Kinesiology beginning August 2026. We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in biomechanics, exercise physiology, and/or motor learning and control. The School of Kinesiology is housed in the College of Education. The School offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Exercise Science as well as Exercise, Performance, and Health Optimization, a Ph.D. degree in Kinesiology, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Auburn University is ranked in the top fifty public universities (U.S. News & World Report) and the School of Kinesiology doctoral program is ranked in the top fifteen by the National Academy of Kinesiology Ranking of Doctoral Programs (2023).
Our mission is to acquire new knowledge about exercise, training, and physical activity and deliver that knowledge in an invigorating learning environment for our undergraduate and graduate students. Our goal is to uncover basic mechanisms and to improve the health of society through research, outreach, and teaching.
- Teach undergraduate, master’s and doctoral level courses at an excellent level in support of the School of Kinesiology
- Collaborate with School of Kinesiology faculty members and students on rigorous research
- Provide institutional service as assigned by the School Director
- Engage in professional service within the discipline and/or community service
- Participate in professional activities to ensure the well‑being of the program, school, and college
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field by start date
- Experience or demonstrated potential to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the School of Kinesiology degree offerings
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to the values and priorities of the College of Education ( ; )

- Experience or demonstrated potential to teach undergraduate and graduate courses of highest need within the School of Kinesiology degree offerings
- Interest in research collaboration with faculty members and students
- Evidence of ability to effectively advise, engage, and mentor masters and Ph.D. students
- Evidence of innovative research
