Director of Exceptional Education - Evaluation: 90 days and then every other year
- Work Schedule:
201 days / 10 days before teachers first day and 8 days after the last half day for teachers
- Basic skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database.
- Demonstrate well-developed communication skills both verbal and written, necessary to interact in a professional manner to project a positive image that is consistent with P-H-M's philosophy.
- Willingness to improve and/or develop job‑related skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and give exceptional attention to detail.
- Expertise in organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Confidential, trustworthy, analytical, self‑motivated, attentive to details, and able to work flexible hours.
- Excellent work habits, attendance record and successfully complete and pass all criminal history and child abuse clearances.
- Shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
- Follow other directives from the Director of Exceptional Education and the Superintendent that serve to improve services to the students and patrons of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation.
- Assist the Director of Exceptional Education and Administrative offices in review and maintenance of Individual Educational Program paperwork. (ACRs, Move-Ins, Addendums, etc.)
- Aquire and maintain Indiana IEP Program skills and provide training to new and existing staff.
- Email telephone and stay in consistent contact with all P-H-M Exceptional Education staff members in regards to required paperwork.
- Compile, update, organize, and maintain records.
- Coordinate clerical work related to leave requests.
- Maintain records as requested.
- Provide clerical support (typing, filing, scheduling, and telephone) to the Director of Exceptional Education and administrative offices as requested.
- Assist the Director of Exceptional Education in all tasks as requested.
