Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the field of computer engineering beginning with the Fall 2027 semester. We seek candidates specializing in the core hardware areas of computer engineering and digital system design, including VLSI technology, computer aided design (CAD) of systems-on-chips, computer systems architecture, AI and machine learning hardware, and hardware security.
The position is available beginning August 16, 2027, and applications will be evaluated beginning on November 1, 2026. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is selected.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has 29 full-time faculty members and enrolls approximately 600 undergraduates and 140 graduate students. The department is home to the Alabama Micro/Nano Science and Technology Center, the Wireless Engineering Research and Education Center, and the Auburn University Neuroimaging Center. The individual selected for this position will be expected to contribute to the growth of the computer engineering program, develop and secure funding for a strong research program, collaborate with other faculty on interdisciplinary research projects, and teach courses in the computer engineering area.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field at the time employment begins. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
