Job Description
The Office of Accessibility, a unit reporting through the Provost’sOffice at Auburn University, is seeking a proactive, collaborative,and thoughtful colleague to function as an Accessibility Accommodation Specialist. The individual selected will engage students with disabilities in an interactive process to developaccommodation plans, provide support for a caseload of students,refer students to appropriate campus resources, and provide education and training to campus and community partners.
Responsibilities- Reviews documentation from medical, psychological, and educational professionals and utilize professional judgment to help determine appropriate accommodations.
- Conducts intake meetings and assists students with disabilities to include (but not limited to) determining eligibility for accommodations, types of accommodations needed, and orientingstudents to programs and resources available.
- Coordinates services and accommodation for students in order tomeet individual needs based on documented disabilities.
- Recommends and provides training for appropriate assistivetechnologies for students with disabilities.
- May lead and/or participate in programs, workshops, and/or presentations concerning the Office of Accessibility and students with disabilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Special Educationor a related field and 4 years of experience in administeringservices for people with disabilities to include identifying and implementing academic accommodations.

Yes, When a candidate has therequired education, but lacks the required experience, they maynormally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
