The Department of History at Auburn University seeks applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor in Early American history before 1815.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the first half of the US Survey, an upper-level class on the American Revolution, graduate seminars on Early American history, and will be able to develop specialized courses in their fields of expertise. Contributions to Auburn’s core curriculum in world history (in-person instruction) are also expected. A Ph.D. in History or a related field is required;

outstanding candidates who are ABD will be considered but completion of the degree is expected prior to the start of the appointment on August 16, 2027.
