Canine Instructor

Overview

The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for a Canine Instructor position to perform or assist with canine development, training, and handling operations to support research and development activities in the Canine Performance Sciences Program. this position also provides general care and welfare of canines, maintains equipment and facilities, participates in outreach activities, and other duties as assigned to support the program's mission.

• Assists with basic canine development, training, and handling to support detection dog production and research, development, and outreach activities.
• Assists others in observing, recording, and assisting in evaluating canine behavior and performance for production, research, and development activities.
• Assists in the overall management of facilities and equipment utilized by the program.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs unassisted.

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid in state driver's license required upon hire

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavioral, Animal, Zoology, and Biological Sciences or related degree
