Student Services Coordinator

Overview

The College of Sciences and Mathematics’ Biological Sciences Department (DBS) is seeking candidates for the position of Student Services Coordinator. This position will primarily provide support for the graduate program within the department. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering the best student-centered experience for the department.

• Coordinates and organizes the admission application process for the department’s graduate school.
• Serve as liaison between graduate student applicants, DBS faculty, and Graduate School staff after admission offers have been made.
• Serve as a consultant to departmental graduate students by counseling students, guiding them through the program, college, and university policies and procedures including providing direction on approved curriculum, program and college specific requirements to meet degree completion.
• Coordinates graduate student assignments.
• Coordinates student related programs and events for the department such as open-houses, award ceremonies career days, student organizations, etc.
• May assist with recruitment activities
• Other duties as assigned

Level I:

• Bachelor's degree
  - No specific discipline.

Level II:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in advising and/or coordinating student services or experience related to the specific academic area.

Level III:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in advising and/or coordinating student services or experience related to the specific academic area.

MINIMUM LICENSES &

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid Driver's License
  - Upon hire.

EXPERIENCE:

Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
