DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The ideal candidate will participate as a member of the Arcelor Mittal Calvert NOES (Non grain oriented electric steel) Project Team as the Operations Process Engineer for the Annealing and Coating Line (ACL). This candidate will join a project team launching the 600,000+ square foot facility, participate in design reviews, assess equipment quality, assist with the development of commissioning plans, and transition to a critical member of the Operating Team.

As a member of the Operating Team, the ideal candidate will develop and maintain effective technology, lead projects to optimize process and product capabilities, and improve quality, productivity, and cost (yield) within the ACL area of the NOES Mill.

The Basics:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering:
Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Materials or equivalent experience to demonstrate the command of the subject matter

• Experience with the components of the ACL: an electric soaking annealing furnace, a forced water-cooling system, and an organic roll coating system

• Knowledge of steel strip properties and applications

• Demonstrated problem solving acumen

• Demonstrated understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and process models

• Strong work ethic that enables working through obstacles that are common in a green field project

• Advanced skills in data analysis and statistics (design of experiments, data analysis and model formulation)

• Leadership experience, such with leading projects, for awareness on group problem solving and influencing peer groups in a positive way
